Sarita {
I've been avidly practicing yoga (and other things) at home and with my friend Elise Arnold, who takes Vinyasa Flow with Linda Zogas over at the gym. I've attended her class a couple times and enjoyed it until cheap carpeting was installed, causing toxic foulness in the air. So, I'm mostly enjoying the environmental sanctuary and sanctity here at my place with regular discipline.
Since my Brazil trip in December, I have been traveling a lot with Helena and Ruby. We flew to California, Chicago and lastly drove to Sedona for a conference and to meet-up with Gary Springfield, the man who conducted last year's Clearing Retreat that I had attended. These trips: all timely and revealing, filled with wonder and magic.
There is gaining momentum. Do you feel it? Often, I think about you, and have stopped by your studio many (6?) times, including this afternoon around 2:30 . . . on my way home from a chi tuning appointment with Marie Elaina (Perfect) . . . do you know of her? She does amazing work with tuning forks. I am thankful and blissful. Your slogan "consume less, share more, enjoy life" sticks with me, and I have been threatening to sell my car (despite wanderlust) and really get out of the consumer game. I have been weaning myself of unnecessary trips, and instead, riding my bike and jogging as much as possible. Last week I bought a bike for Helena who just turned 6 in April. She and Ruby each weigh a modest 40lbs each and so our bike trailer days seem numbered. So, I still have the car, for a little while longer, but I suspect that I could re-direct the $3000/year that I pay in insurance, maintenance, and gas, into something more benefiting and enlightening . . . My mom, Nancy, (who lives next door now) and I have been playing dueling vegetable gardens. So now, there is a bounty of organic herbs and vegetables right outside my door! In fact, she (my mom) and I were discussing acquiring vegetable stand this morning. We'll make use of the thoroughfare here and sell organic produce along with the eggs that her 30 chickens will begin to lay in July. Maybe your slogan should include "grow more" (-;
Helena and Ruby's mother, Diana, and I agreed to begin formally home-schooling the girls, rather than continue to pay the fortune to send them to the Montessori school in Lancaster, where I ceased taking them anyway since the weeks that I have them, we do many diverse and enriching activities. Helena and Ruby are both reading and writing, playing the piano, watering the gardens (thank goodness it is finally raining), hiking, hanging-out with Grandma Nancy down at the barn with the chickens and goats. The girls also practice yoga. Did you ever see the book "Fly Like a Butterfly, Yoga for Children" by Shakta Kaur Khalasa? Great stories and photographs for inspiring children for yoga. Speaking of pictures, Patti photographed the girls and me last Sunday ;-) I see her fairly often as our social network has grown increasingly connected, but she and I were just talking about you in thanks for having introduced us.
There you have it. A snippet of things happening in my world.
So with the undulating current of showers, I send you my love, many blessings, and I breathe deeply with anticipation of seeing each other soon.
Namaste.
