National Geographic and Mayan Distortions

Last night, I attended a gathering of peoples from Central Africa. We spoke about The Mysteries and, I with great emphasis on the prophetic Mayan calendar. Early in this aspect of the discussion, Ed reached into his attache case to reveal the latest issue of National Geographic:

Today I have read-through the article titled "The Maya, Glory and Ruin".

Initially excited by the timeliness of this synchronic connection, but now it saddens me that the National Geographic team seem to be almost demonizing the Maya as savages as once did the sixteenth-century conquistadors.

The abstract reads as follows:
Maya Rise & Fall
Scholars have long puzzled over the Maya civilization's rise to glory and fall to ruin. The latest thinking is that a man named Fire is Born made the Maya great. But no one person or problem caused the collapse. Simply put, everything went wrong.

Now I remember why I stopped subscribing to this magazine over ten years ago.

  • No mention is made regarding the Mayan calendar's importance and significance to us here and now in the year 2007.
  • No mention is made about the prophetic significance of the Mayan calendar 9 Underworlds aligning so perfectly with evolution of consciousness since the time of the big bang.
  • No mention that the current Long Count is coming to an end on the Winter solstice of 2012 and that the final Underworld, beginning in February 2011, lasts only 260 days.
  • No mention of the sacred Tzolkin and Long Count proliferation throughout all of Mesoamerican cultures and its re-emergence of interest in the last decades.
  • No mention of the Mayan culture or celebrations.
Though mentioned, it seems that even the Maya's astronomical and mathematic excellence seems dulled somehow if not by the drone of focus on dark barbarianism and inter conquests during the period of Mayan civilization. Alas, the cultural aspect is lost, as if the writer destroyed it himself . This article seems almost to feed a war-monger readership mentality, as if the written play by play account of a war veteran mentality.

Is this a diversion tactic being employed by National Geographic to douse the growing potential for the us to gain insight to achieving inner and world Peace through celestial harmony and synchronicity through daily use of the Tzolkin and other aspects of the Mayan calendar?

Well considering who owns N. G. [Bertelsmann] is it surprising in any way that the information is dumbed down and skewed? The ownership pathway always seems to lead to the oligarchy - 6 or 7 mega corporations [illuminati] that control all aspects of wealth on Earth. It is not in the best financial interest of these controlling companies to present factual and unbiased, complete information.

So it remains the responsibility of the individual to seek truth.
